Where the information on this site comes from, and what happens when it conflicts with an official source.
Source policy
This site summarizes publicly available information from official Arkansas and Benton County sources. Where possible, each page links directly to the government source used. Because court assignments, election dates, laws, addresses and procedures can change, important factual pages display the date they were last reviewed. If information on this site conflicts with an official source, rely on the official source.
Order of authority
When two sources disagree, the higher one on this list controls:
- Arkansas Supreme Court and the Arkansas Judiciary
- Official Arkansas court rules
- Arkansas Code and official legislative sources
- Arkansas Secretary of State
- Benton County Election Commission
- Benton County government
- Official city and court pages
- Official election-result documents
- Secondary sources, only where necessary and clearly identified
Law versus local practice
Some things are set by statewide law or court rule. Others are local scheduling habits or docket names used by a particular court. These are not the same thing, and this site labels which is which. A local docket label is never presented as a statewide legal requirement.
