This site is for people who need it, often at a stressful moment. It should work on whatever device and in whatever way they read it.
What this site aims for
- readable contrast and font sizes;
- full keyboard navigation with visible focus states;
- semantic headings and landmarks for screen readers;
- large tap targets and a layout that works on a phone;
- plain English, with court jargon defined rather than assumed;
- no pop-ups, no interstitials, no dark patterns.
Plain language is an accessibility feature
Legal writing excludes people just as effectively as a missing alt attribute. Where a court term is unavoidable, it is defined — see the glossary.
Report a barrier
If something here does not work with your assistive technology, or is hard to read or operate, please report it. Accessibility problems are treated as errors, not suggestions.
